Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SOLID-STATE voltage converter to protect batteries from rercharge on public, commercial and emergency service vehicles ith a 24v system powered by two 12v batteries has been produced Stockport-based Thomas Electronics Ltd.

The converter is designed with rticular regard to fire engines uipped with powerful twoly radios.

Since virtually all such radios ierate on 12v, a tapping is norally taken from one of the batles but Thomas claims that Is results in the tapped battery draining more rapidly than the other.

So, when the batteries are recharged from the vehicle's alternator, they can be damaged by excessive charging.

The Thomas converter is claimed to equalise power consumption and to provide continuous protection up to 20 amps.
