Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW form of combined ambulance and disinfecting-van body has recently been .made to the order of the

Leicestershire Hospitals Committee by Sperling Motor liodies, Ltd., and has been mounted on a Chevrolet six-cylinder chassis. The. inferior of the ambulance affords accommodation for two stretchers and a seat for an attendant. The usual equipment . and fittings are supplied. The disinfecting compartment is so designed as to he entirely separate from the interior of the ambulance. This section takes up about a fifth of the interior space and is, to nil intents and purposes, a large deep cupboard located at the near-side front of the van ; it is accessible only through doors opening outward and positioned at the side of the van. The cupboard is zinclined thrbughout and has soldered joints and rounded corners, so that it can easily be cleaned.

The use of this Composite ambulance eliminates not only the need for a separate vehicle to carry bedding and clothing which has to be disinfected, but also -the necessity of a second journey to collect those articles. When calling for a patient suffering from some infectious disease, he or she is first of all carried into the ambulance on a stretcher, the bedding and other material is then placed in the disinfectant compartment and both 'patient. and bedding are conveyed together to the isolation hospital.

In addition, of course, the vehicle can be used for either purpose independently.;
