• Pickfords Ltd has sold its depot at High Street, Stratford, London E15, by auction through Chamberlain and Willows for £282,000, and moved to more compact premises adjacent at Blaker Road. Commercial Motor was told that this would make no difference to the fleet size operated from Stratford; a fly-over had made the old premises-58,000 sq ft on a site of acres—unsuitable.
The buyer's name has not been divulged, but it is understood to be a firm in the motor trade.
