Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I have read with interest the article on page 9 (CM December 20) concerning a new competitor in the vehicle hiring business, namely, BRS. I would point out, however, that the facts given are incorrect; Avis, Godfrey Davis, Hertz and Ryder (shortly to be joined you say by BRS) are not the only principal national operators. Fleet Hire Ltd have, for several years, been operating over one hundred and fifty 32-ton tractor units, with highly competitive rates and service second to none. We have also had a very good relationship with BRS over the years.

As far as this company is concerned, competition is not a deterrent, it is healthy and can only benefit us in the long term. D. L. B. HURRY Director and General Manager Fleet Hire Ltd, Birmingham,
