)UT of rather more than 700 names in le New Year's Honours List some 21 re those of men actively engaged in or ssociated with transport. Prominent mong these are representatives from le nationalized freight and passenger Dad transport fields though the major onours of knighthoods go to the hairman of a shipping and haulage orripany, Mr John L. Alexander of )cean Transport and Trading, which umbers Cory Distribution among its onstituent companies, and Mr F. C. /IcFadzean, chairman of Shell Transort and Trading.
The services rendered by former 'ansport men have merited an OBE Dr Len Castleton, who apart from eing trans-port manager at Metal Box efore retiring was president of the reight Transport Association from 972 to 1974, and an MBE for Mr C. O. Vilson, who was a Traffic Cornlissioner in the Yorkshire traffic area pr. some 19 years.
The bus industry is represented by /11S. J. B. Skyrme, chief executive of le National Bus Company (CBE), and hr J. B. Batty, district operations
