Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WITH REGARD to the present discussions over the alternative Commercial Vehicle Show to be held at London in 1980, we have recently been approached by the exhibition consultants involved to participate as exhibitors.

To a small company such as ourselves the question of a possible alternative venue to exhibit at, raises aggravations we could do without.

Based on several factors we have made a decision to show at the SMMT Exhibition in 1980. Some of the reasons are summarised below and could be of interest to other companies who may be faced with the same bewildering choice.

Looking back to the future created when a Birmingham show was first announced, the biggest complaint levelled was one of cost of stand space — we note that the Olympia Show will cost 50 per cent more than the NEC one, a point which seems to be overlooked.

The 1978 show had problems not least of which was the control of the sheer volume of visitors. The SMMT were amongst the first to recognise these problems and to promise action. The measures they have proposed for the next show will prevent this type of problem occurring again. Particularly admission at the boundaries (instead of at the hall entrance) will give the show a "Frankfurt" air Boundary admission, another hall, larger aisles and more trade days will transform the 1980 show to the advantage of exhibitor and visitor alike. Would it not be better for everyone to give their backing to the SMMT and allow them the chance to improve upon 1 979 now that the problems have been realised?

Introduction of yet another show can only mean certain people visiting one and not the other, a disadvantage to all exhibitors alike. The National Exhibition Cer tre is purpose-built for exhib tions and is unrivalled for it facilities, even the "'air yo breathe" seems fresher than i! London counterparts. Londo halls do not even bear compa ison.

Last but not least we had very good show in 1978, wi! many orders that were direct attributable to the Show (inde( some are still being, worked o — we assume therefore th 1980 with all the changes only be better.
