Mr. S. Hattan, transport controller to the Schweppes • group of companies, having.reached retiring age, will retire on September 30. He will be succeeded by Mr. F. R. L. Wentworth, who has been assistant controller since 1957.
Mr. E. L. Ostwald has been appointed publicity manager of Scott Bader and Co., Ltd.
Mr. D. Fowler has been appointed machinery representative in the North East for Thos, W. Ward, Ltd.
Mr. R. J. Minehin has been appointed manager of the motor division of The Astley Industrial Trust, Ltd., London office.
Mr. Frank Foster has been appointed a director of Crompton Parkinson (Batteries), Ltd.
Mr. R. Hylands has been appointed executive assistant to the director of sales, Ford Motor Co., Ltd. Mr. John Kilburn.. Toppiu has been appointed marketing manager for the company.
Mr. Dudley J. Thomas has been appointed sales manager (fleet operators) for C.A.V., Ltd. He succeeds Lt.-Col. A. W. Reed,' who retired on July 31. Mr. D. G. Cameron has been appointed to replace Mr. Thomas as South Eastern area manager.
Com. H. S. A. Ward has been appointed a member of the North Western Transport Users Consultative Committee. He is vice-chairman of Blackpool Transport Committee.
The Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Gt. Britain), Ltd., have announced two new appointments in the sales development division.. Appointed to the newly created posts of regional managers are Mr. K. R. Laughton, who will be responsible for sales promotion activities for the North of England and Scotland, and Mr. A. H. Noon with similar responsibilities in the Midlands and South of England.
Mr. J. C. Cragg has been elected a director of Castro! Industrial, Ltd. This follows his appointment as general manager of the group works division of Castro!, Ltd., announced last month.
Mr. D. K. Roberts has been appointed assistant chief engineer of A.E.C., Ltd. He was formerly the company's diesel engineer. The position of experimental engineer, with A.E.C., Ltd., recently vacated by Mr. J. W. Eaton's appointment as deputy general service manager, as reported in The Commercial Motor of July 6, is being filled by Mr. G. K. Martlew. The new diesel engineer will be Mr. C. Mash. Mr, IVIartlew was experimental engineer and inspection manager with Transport Equipment (Thornycroft), Ltd., until shortly after that concern joined the A.C.V. group last year.
