Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Lau ra.bailstonerarimco.uk THE FREIGHT Transport Association (FTA) has created an operation in the Republic of Ireland to raise the profile of logistics operators in the country.

FTA Ireland, which has an office on the outskirts of Dublin, has 22 founder members and is headed by Declan McKeon.

McKeon, who has more than 20 years' experience in the industry, was previously involved in dangerous goods training and, before that, he oversaw warehouse logistics for Coca-Cola Concentrate in Drogheda, Co Louth.

3 "The founder members are concerned about the image of haulage ; in Ireland; we need to change the image of Irish logistics carriers and recognise that there are good people out there," McKeon says.

Among the founding members are DHL Supply Chain, Eddie Stobart Ireland, Reynolds Logistics, Tesco Ireland, UPS and Wmcanton.

Reynolds Logistics chief executive Andrew Reynolds says the main reason his firm signed up to FTA Ireland is to help create a level playing field for operators in Eire: "The FTA has a good reputation and hopefully it can build on this in Ireland. The immediate priority is to raise the image of freight transport in Ireland and to work on improving the compliance of Irish operators" McKeon adds: "During my career I have come across companies that take their commitments to road safety seriously.

"These same companies have a strong compulsion to differentiate themselves from those who take their adherence to transport regulations less seriously.

"My role will enable me to help those companies achieve this aim."
