N Wheels and tyres worth £9.000 have been stolen from new trucks at a Wolverhampton dealer—the second time raiders have struck at the premises within a month.

Sixteen wheels and tyres were stolen last week from Greenhous Leyland Oaf in Neachalls Lane. A similar number was stolen from the firm only a few weeks ago.

Now sales director Michael Dodson believes his firm and other hauliers in the area have become targets for tyre thieves.

"There have been at least two other raids on haulage firms in the area for wheels and tyres," he says. The tyres stolen

from our premises for the second time were big heavy ones. They obviously knew what they were doing and came here knowing what they were looking for.

"I would estimate that it would have taken a number of vans or lorries just to get the tyres away and they must have been here for some time to get the tyres off," he adds. "The lorries were jacked up. They were stolen from eight new lorries we had just got in. It was about the same number on the last occasion. We have managed to get on with our business but it has been a setback."

Wednesfield police have appealed for witnesses.
