Aday off turned to disaster for Neil Crocker when his 7.5-tonne lveco Ford Cargo was stolen from outside his house in West Mailing, Kent. "It's sods law," says Crocker. "The first day I have off in ages and my truck gets stolen—and I'd only had the thing for a couple of weeks." The 0813 series truck has a blue cab with a yellow

0 perator David Benbow believes thieves were stealing to order when they broke into Beresford Transport's yard in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent on 28 August and took a Leyland Daf FTG95-310 6x2 tractor. It has engine number H16245 and registration E171 BDM. The company name is on the side of the green and grey cab which has a yellow roof. Company secretary David Benbow says: "A of of other trailers and units were left in our yard untouched—they wanted this one for a reason."

Thieves ransacked an office in Manchester to find the keys to a Mercedes van loaded with more than £30,000 worth of closed-circuit television equipment. The raiders struck at Stockport-based IES, which specialises in inspection work on oil pipelines using the hitech cameras.
