Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ZF's hydrodynamic retarder (CM 24-30 Sept 1992) can now be retrofitted on all Iveco EuroTech and MANF90 tractors sold in the UK with the latest alloy housing Ecosplit 3 synchro gearbox.

The retrofit kit includes all necessary back-end fittings and cooling pipes along with electrical connectors, switchgear and the dash-mounted control lever.

According to ZE Great Britain's field sales and marketing manager Geoff Buck, the installation can be tackled by any haulier with "a competent fitter with suitable maintenance facilities." Alternatively the retrofit can be handled by a dealer or by ZF itself.

The Intarder can provide up to 3,000Nm of braking effort depending on cooling.

Installation time is 50 hours and the cost of the kit is L2,500-3,000.

The Intarder can be fitted to EuroTech 400 E34/38 and 42

models along with the MANF90 with five and six-cylinder engines

On the F90 the standard water pump and radiator are replaced by an uprated radiator and water pump.

The retrofit should be of particular interest to UK Hazchem hauliers running on the Continent under ADR regs.
