Sites for a proposed bus station..._at' Hanley have been inspected by Stoke reconstruction committee. Lichfield City Council, whose existing station can accommodate only 12 buses, are contemplating doubling its capacity.

24-CU.-YD. TIPPER FOR COLLIERY WORK HAULED by a Leyland Hippo, a 24-cu.-yd. side-tipping semi-trailer has been delivered to Kriel Collieries, Ltd., Transvaar, South Africa. The outfit was built by More-Wear Industries (Pty.), Ltd., and has Klaus air-operated tipping gear and More-Wear telescopic landing gear. The capacity is over 30 tons.

A special feature is a safety device to counteract any loss of pressure in the tyres of the semi-trailer in case of punctures. Should a puncture occur. a light flickers in the driver's cab and the twin to the punctured tyre discharges 15 per cent, of its pressure into the other.

FREE TRAVEL WANTED

FREE travel, as allowed old people in Burnley, Come and Nelson, has been requested of the Burnley, Colne and Nelson joint Passenger Transport Committee by Barrowford Old People's Association. The Association say that the concessions will cost little and not interfere with the ordinary working of the undertak Mg.
