I-1 A NEW £100,000 company has been formed to run the former British Road Services' depots in Inverness and Dingwall. Registered as Highland Haulage, Ltd., it has as its directors Mr. W. H. MacLennan (managing), Mr. I. J. Milne, Mr. G. C. Wilson, Mr. W. R. Wisely and Col, N. MacArthur. General haulage is being undertaken.

The Inverness depot is in Longman Road, and that at Dingwall is situated at Rootfield, Conon Bridge. There are 34 operational vehicles and four licensed trailers (120 tons), as well as live additional lorries and four extra railers, at Inverness. Included are seven articulated units, six livestock vehicles, three six-wheelers, four tippers, and containers for carrying meat and furniture.

The 12 licensed vehicles and two operational trailers (42 tons) at Dingwall, include three tippers and a sixwheeler. There are also seven livestock containers.

Offices at Ullapool and Gairloch were also included in the unit (4502). which was offered for sale in the special Scottish lists.

Mr. MacLennan, who has been in haulage for many years, was B.R.S. manager at Inverness until recently.

EMPTY BOXES LIMIT UTILITY TO 30 M.P.H.

rAA UTILITY vehicle carrying empty boxes is subject to a speed limit of 30 m.p.h., Stourport magistrates decided last week. John E. Drew, The Haven, Little Witley, pleaded not guilty to a speeding summons. He thought that the restriction did not apply unless the vehicle was laden. Only empty boxes were being carried.

The magistrates held that empty boxes constituted goods" and imposed a fine of £2.
