AN inquiry into the running of .1-1 Glasgow Corporation Transport Department is to be Made by a subcommittee of seven members which will report within six months of its forma
tion.
Last year the Department suffered a loss of £322,588,-and it is faced with the probability of another deficit this year.
Exports of Lodge plugs during the first six months of 1949 were seven times the value of the company's prewar overseas sales. Exports were largely to hard-currency areas.
