Fund for the maintenance and minor improvement of trunk roads in Britain for the 1949-50 period totals £7,205,000. This figure was recently announced by the Ministry of Transport. There are 8,000 miles of trunk roads in England, Scotland and Wales.
Of this grant, £664,000 is for the Metropolitan area, £870,000 for Scotland, and 1776,0130 for Wales and Monmouthshire The largest share, representing 004,000, is for the Northwestern area.
