Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

l'RUCK MANUFACTURERS and third-party fleet management suppliers seem to be on a collision course with the manufacturers offering factory fitted vehicle and fleet management systems.

The proprietary suppliers currently have a 95% share of this market, but many of the manufacturers are predicting that this share will decrease over the next five years. The new common data protocol will make it much easier for the truck manufacturers to muscle in on the act.

Renault Trucks is the latest to make a play for this business with its web-based Infom@x system which is aimed at small to medium-sized fleets (less than 100 vehicles).

Due to be launched at the RA! Show in Amsterdam next week. Infom@x is said to offer real-time vehicle tracking with a range of driver and vehicle data.

Renault says its cost will be "competitive" with systems from rival truck firms.

Renault has also given the Premium and Midlum ranges a facelift, focusing on the fit and finish of the cab interiors. It hopes these changes will please drivers and enhance residuals.
