Will they have to take the hgv driving test, or how can they prove they have been driving for five years? The vehicle is not ,Ilways driven on the road and we do not keep log sheets; trade plates are used.
A Your sons will have to take the hgv driving test unless you, as their employer, can justifiably state on their hgv licenci. application forms that they have been in the habit of driving the vehicle regularly during period totalling not less than six months between February 2 1969 and February 1 1970.
It is not for us to state what can be considered regular driving and if you have any doubt about the matter it is best to ask your local Licensing Authority, giving him details of the exact amount of driving your sons have done.
May we also point out that, from what you have told us of your type of work, this cannot legally be carried out on trade plates under the revised regulations which took effect in January this year
