Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• What is believed to be the largest tipper on British roads has lately gone into service with L. G. Bradshaw and Sons Ltd, of Barton, Beds.

The semi-trailer, built and supplied by Seadyke Freight Systems Ltd, of Wisbech St Mary and March, is a model STWB /44/I having a 3 lft-long by 5ftdeep all-welded alloy body fitted with rear van doors and a double grain aperture. Special twin-ram Edbro tipping gear is used and the chassis has a 5ft 6in. kingpin position. Michelin H by 22.5 tubeless X tyres are mounted on widespread running gear.

The tractive unit is an ERF 66 CU 220 with 3311 1 in. wheelbase, supplied by Sellars and Batty (Sales) Ltd, Peterborough, and has an RTO 15-speed gearbox, Kirkstall GBT 48 two-spring rear bogie and Michelin D2OX tyre equipment.

Currently running at 32 tons gtw, the trailer is already plated to 36 tons which, with the tractor capable of being plated to 48 tons, will allow a 44 tons overall gtw for a nominal 30 tons payload, since the unladen weight complete is 14 tons 6 cwt (tractor 8 tons 4 cwt, trailer 6 tons 2 cwt), including the pto/pump and other ancillaries.
