Following the merger of Brown Brothers and Albany Tyre Service Ltd. the board, under the chairmanship of Mr Masterton. has been joined by T. W. Kempton, previously a director of Brown Brothers.

Brian R. E. Furey has been appointed automotive sales manager, British Timken, and is returning to Duston. Northants. on the completion of a sales management training programme in Canton, Ohio. A. D. N. King becomes manager—sales services, a new appointment carrying responsibility for market . research.

J. H. P. Draper is being appointed principal establishment and organization officer of the Ministry of Transport in succession to J. M. Moore. Mr, Moore is to take charge of the Railways Group of Divisions in succession to P. E. Lazarus who has been loaned to the Treasury. D. McKean, on loan from the Treasury, is to be the Under Secretary in charge of programming in the Highways Directorate. R. D. Poland, at present an Under Secretary in the Ports Group, will take over from Mr Draper responsibility for the Nationalized Transport Group. The Channel Tunnel Divisions will for the present report direct to C. P. Scott-Malden, Deputy Secretary.

Dix, 48, managing director of Volkswagen Motors Ltd, has been made a Fellow of the Institute of Marketing and elected president of its newly constituted Croydor branch.

G. Anthony Hepworth has been appointed to the board of Associated Engineering Ltd. the parent company of the Associated Engineering Group. Mr Hepworth is divisional managing director of the newly formed replacement parts marketing and distributing division. In addition, he continues as chairman and md of AE Auto Parts Ltd.
