Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• After two haulage contractors had been contracted to carry a load of steel and a 1-ton machine from a Bristol engineering works, they returned and took away a 5-ton weighing machine, it was stated by Mr Desmond Perrett, prosecuting at Gloucestershire sessions last week, when William Manley, 32, Chadderton, Lanes, and Donald Dawson, 34, Lewisham, London, were each sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment after they had denied stealing the machine.

The court heard that on August 7 defendants, who trade under the name of D. and M. Transport, of Peckham, London, were hired by the engineering firm of Douglas (Kingswood) Ltd, to transport the steel and the machine to London. But, after making the delivery, they returned and stole the second machine.
