A RANGE of semi-trailer landing gears I-1which are maintenance-free and are rated for static loads up to 50,000 lb. have been introduced by the Adrolic Engineering Co. Ltd.. Milngavie, Glasgow. The gears are known as the .Adrolic Ill and will be available exstock by the end of this month; the retail, price is £56 for complete two-speed gear (two legs and cross-shaft) and £52 for single-speed. Die-cast aluminium alloy casings are used for the legs and these carry aluminium bronze gears in a sealed-forlife reduction gearbox which can be single-speed or two-speed. Steel is used for the thrust platform and also to support the axle bearings; the load screw, also, is in steel. A pair of legs complete with cross-shaft weighs around 200 lb.
