One example of how changing operational patterns affect the need for specialist bodywork is in the gas-bottle-carrying sector. The consumer market is growing as we buy more bottled gas to fuel barbecues and patio heaters. To ensure it can meet all its delivery demands, Calor Gas operates a range of vehicles from 3.5 tonnes to 18 tonnes. The larger vehicles have both side and rear tail-lifts for maximum offloading capability. All bodywork is galvanised and paint-free to reduce maintenance and there are bottlesecuring racks on all vehicles.
