HAVING READ Gill Ward's comments on the service provided by transport consultants as criticised by the letter from a solicitor (CM 26 October), I wish to say "hear hear' to Gill's remarks.
Sadly. it is the case that some transport consultants only meet their clients on the day of the public inquiry. I would argue that those operators pay for what they get.However,we and quite clearly the consultants at Wards, are very professional,conscientious and experienced.
I believe that consultants often have a great deal of vital operational experience, mostly from transport or enforcement backgrounds.
We spend a large amount of lime with our clients prior to the day of the hearing, auditing systems and proceclures.making changes to working practices and preparing a ease. We are not the cheapest but we give a high-quality, honest service that I would pitch against any
