Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Ford is attempting to address complaints by van users that they are not getting as good a parts service as truck operators by starting a daily stock ordering system.

Ford says it is spending .£12m on introducing the "lean" parts distribution service that will be run out of its Daventry parts centre. So far 300 UK dealers have signed up for the service that is designed to deliver 95% of parts before 10:00hrs the next day. The rest, includ ing all 120 specialist Transit dealers, are expected to be on board by the end of November.

The new system should allow dealers to keep lower levels of first-pick spares, as well as reducing downtime.

E Ford says that delivery schedules of Transits are back to normal following delays over the summer. A spokesman explains that deliveries were held up by the summer shutdown of plants and extra demand for specialist orders.
