Crowthers Livestock Haul age, which appealed against the revocatio of its licence, has been ordere to cease operating.

The company lost its nation licence for eight vehicles and six trailers when it failed to appear at disciplinary proceed. ings in Birmingham. (CM 7-1. Sept). It had been called befol the LA because of a number ( convictions and doubts over it operating centre.

Previous disciplinary proceedings involving Crowthers, and the associated W Burgoyi & Sons were adjourned in 19/ after the LA was told that the two firms had been evicted from their operating centre b( cause of the sale of the site, (CM 23 May 1987). An application by Majorie Burgoyne to take over the W Burgoyne & Sons licence, was refused. Following the lodging of an appeal, the LA stayed his dec sion pending the outcome.

The tribunal declared the appeal invalid on the grounds lack of prosecution. The LA directed that the company cease operating at midnight o 31 October.
