• Enviromentally-friendly sugar tankers have been produced for British Sugar by Seadyke Freight Systems, The Wilcox Group's specialist unit at Wisbech, Cambs.
The specification set by Dave Sharp, technical services manager of British Sugar called for a semi-trailer with a pneumatic discharge system which eliminates noise.
The Same diesel power unit and Holmes blower are housed in an acoustic enclosure at the front of the 31.4m3 tank.
Acoustic materials have been used throughout the system to keep noise to a minimum,
