• An unpaid VAT bill, alleged to amount to E80,000, has forced County Durham haulier Dent's • Transport into receivership. Dent's, which runs 15 artic units, is still trading but the company's 25 staff have • received no assurances of job security.
Fearns approval
• South Yorkshire-based Fearns Tankers has been awarded BS 5750 for its transportation of hazardous chemicals in bulk by road tanker.
Salvesen centre • Christian Salvesen has started building a distribution centre with a 13, 000m2 warehouse in South Yorkshire, to service Marks & Spencer stores in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Humberside by the end of January 1991.
Initially the E15 million centre will employ over 250 people and this will rise to 500 by 1992.
