YET ANOTHER new parcels carrier, Tramps Trucking of Birmingham, has advertised for county-based franchise holders and aims to build up a 48-strong national network offering 24—hour delivery throughout Britain by February next year.

• [ramps is modelled closely on ANC of Stoke on Trent and started operating in a few areas in September under managing director Maureen Harrison, ANC's former company secretary.

It will organise the trunking and marketing for local franchisees, who are required to pay an initial fee of 13,750 for non-voting shares in Tramps, and a minimum of 0,000 a month fiff trunking services.

All franchise companies will carry the Tramps Trucking name and delivery fleets will be in black and white corporate livery.

'Framps says it wants a higher level of local manager than is found in many other carriers.

The company has leased a 7,60(hn2 hub depot just off the M6 at Spaghetti junction. It aims to have 16 trunking lorries by February.

The rate schedule is kept simple — "The facts in black and white' heads the rate card — and most of England will be covered by a single rate of S:7.50 per consignment plus 27p per kg.
