Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN YOUR October 26 issue you quote from manufacturers' questions and answers at the Fleet Management Conference Jeff Lemons' solution to wheel fixing: "Throw away your torque, wrench, take a very long bar and an 18stone fitter."

You rather spoilt it for me suggesting it was not quite a serious remark, but of the many theories and ideas which have been propounded over the last few years, this is by far the most sensible.

While I am not fortunate enough to have an 18-stone fitter in order to satisfy the formula, nevertheless my light heavy-weights, complete with a threefoot bar, have been eminently successful in preventing wheels coming adrift, a problem which seems endemic in the industry.
