ACCUSATIONS against Dow Freight Services Ltd, two other companies and six directors involving fraudulent use of vehicle registration plates and the forgery of international road haulage permits and journey sheets have been adjourned until December by the Stockport magistrates.
Dow Freight Services of Brp.dbury, Stockport; Carl Lionel Burgess of Porthill, Newcastle-under-Lyme; and Roger Dowsett, of Darlington Bramhall, Stockport, each face seven allegations of the fraudulent use of vehicle registration marks, the forging of international haulage permits and journey record sheets and allowing the misuse of road haulage permits.
John Dowsett of South Reddish, Stockport, faces five allegations of the fraudulent use of international haulage permits and journey record sheets and fraudulent use of vehicle registration marks.
Leslie Trucking Ltd of Stockport faces two allegations of the fraudulent use of international haulage permits and forged record sheets.
Philip Vernon of St Margaret, Swindon, faces three allegations of using forged international haulage permits and journey record sheets. Margaret Rose Vernon faces two similar allegations.
Dowman Commercial Vehicles Ltd of Portwood, Stockport, and Graham Brooks of Offerton, Stockport, each face one allegation of fraudulent use of vehicle registration marks.
The magistrates adjourned the hearing of the charges until December 16.
