1:4 at Woodbridge, .Suffolk, fot aiding and abetting his employer in twice failing to cause current driving records to• be kept, and twice failing to preserve for the required period the records of hours of work in respect tit June 18 and 19.

The employer, Leslie Donovan Carter, trading as Messrs. W. Carter, haulage contractor, 13romeswell, was prosecuted on the counts mentioned and for permitting a driver to drive so that he had not had at least 10 consecutive hours rest in a period of 24 hours. He was fined £10 with SS. costs.

The driver was also prosecuted and fined a total of E1 10s.

COURT ORDER AGA1NSF CLEANING BUSES

FOLLOWING action by residents in the street, Dundee Transport Department has been interdicted from cleaning buses in Walrond Street. Residents took the matter to the Sheriff Court, seeking a ban on use of the street between 11.15 p.m. and midnight and from 4 a.m.. and the prevention of cleaning operations in the street.

For the department, it was stated that the conversion from trams to buses made it essential to use the rear entry to Maryfield depot. The Sheriff granted interdict against the cleaning of buses in the street. but allowed its use for transit purposes.

ARTCO CONFERENCE CHANGE

THE traffic managers' conference of Associated Road Transport Contractors, Ltd., originally to have been held on November 17, will take place on November 24 at St. Ermin's Hotel, London. S.W.1. A paper on co-ordination will be presented by Mr. D. H. McVeigh. director.
