TO supplement the work of the conveyor systems andheavy types of works truck, Hoover; Ltd., Perivale, Middx., has ordered six Cieco battery-electric machines, Ornic, Ltd., George Street, London, W.1„ is building the superstructure on the Cleco chassis to the Hoover company's
requirements. . The most interesting feature is that the driver sits sidesaddle. In this manner he can look to the front when driving and to the rear when picking up stillages. The lifting platform is eiectro-hydraulically operated. The trucks are powered by 48-volt batteries which can be easily changed. Unladen weight has been kept tow, so that the machines may use the factory lifts. With a payload of I ton, the trucks can attain 4 m.p.h. A high degree of manceuvrability has been achieved. AU controls, except the tiller arm, are mounted on the dash. Ile tiller arm projects front a domed head.
