AN application by Messrs. Sunter Bros., Northallerton, to operate direct services from R.A.F stations in Yorkshire to various cities at weekends, has been refused by the Yorkshire Licensing Authority. The Railway Executive and several road passenger operators lodged objections.
ft was stated that rail fares were too high for R.A.F. personnel to afford and that the value of direct week-end services would be appreciated by them. For the objectors, it was submitted that there were adequate facilities linking the camps with the main services,
