The smaller chassis is equipped with a six-cylindered, sidevalVe engine, with a bore of 3 5-16 ins, and a stroke of 41 ins.'; a maximum of 78.5 b.h.p. is developed at 3,400 np.m. Features of the engine include a down-draught carburetter ; four steel-hacked, babbitt-lined, removable

shell main and connecting-rod bearings ; counter-balanced crankshaft and hardened exhaust-valve-seat inserts. Mounted as a unit with the engine is the 9-in, diameter single-plate clutch with built-in vibration damper, ad the three-speed synchromesh gearbox. The drive is taken through an open propeller shaft, with roller-bearing universal joints, to a spiral-bevel axle, the axle shafts being of chrome-molybdenum steel. Both the pedal and hand lever operate self-energizing-type brakes on all wheels through the medium of cables. The wheelbase is 9 ft. 5 ins., the overall length being 14 ft. 01 in.,

whilst the body space from the back of the cab to the end of the frame is 4 ft. 713-16 ins.

The C20-30 cwt. chassis has a four-cylindered power unit of 3i ins, bore and 4i ins. stroke. Side valves are employed, and a maximum of 41.5 b.h.p. is developed at 2,400 r.p.ra. Transmission is by an open two-piece propeller-shaft, having a self-aligning centre bearing and needle-type universal joints, the final drive being by spiral-bevel gears to semi-floating axle shafts; the differential gear incorporates tapered roller bearings.

Mechanical, self-energizing brakes are used, the hand lever operating those on the rear wheels, and the pedal those on all four wheels. The steering gear is of the camand-lever-type. The wheelbase is 11 ft. 1 in. and the overall length 16 ft. 7 ins., whilst the body space is 8 ft. 3i ins. The chassis weight, with full equipment, and including oil, fuel and water is 36 cwt.
