April and were slightly more positive than they were in March: their optimistic split in April was 83/16 compared with 80/20.
Hire or reward hauliers were also marginally more optimistic in April than the month before, registering a split of 73/32 against 68/33.
Own-account operators suffered a drop in optimism: their split slipped from 78/21 in March to 70/30 in April.
