Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

construction and mining equipment show held in Munich, last month saw the launch of Volvo's second generation FMX construction truck. Key updates include a new Dynamic Steering system, rear air suspension and ergonomic improvements inside the high-tensile steel cab.

Dynamic Steering reduces the steering effort required from the driver. Even when single-steered versions of the truck are fully laden and travelling at low speeds, the driver can steer using just one finger. Volvo says the system addresses the most frequent occupational injuries suffered by LGV drivers.

An electronically controlled electric motor is attached to the steering gear and signals from this dictate the motor's movements to make it work with the normal hydraulic power steering system. When reverse is selected Dynamic Steering automatically self-centres.

Other in-cab changes include integrated control buttons on the steering wheel for cruise control, phone and navigation, and repositioning the ignition key and other items to give more legroom.

Drivers can control the cab heater, check the alarm, door lock and fluid level status remotely using a Smartphone app.

Externally, there is a new off road rear air suspension for 4x2, 6x4 and 8x4 models and automatic ride-height control to provide 300mm of ground clearance. Air suspended versions can be used for tipping into asphalt pavers.

Driveline revisions see a choice of 11and 13-litre Euro-6 engines. Driven front axles have been relocated 100mm further forward to increase off-road capability. Oilchange intervals on the I-Shift transmission have been extended to 450,000km.

Production of the new Volvo FMX starts in September.
