/ The Freight Transport Association's policy makers have again spelled out their opposition to the retrofitting of top speed limiters on trucks.
The national council of the FTA is concerned that installing limiters on old vehicles would be too expensive.
The Department of Transport has yet to make a final decision on retrofitting after issuing a consultation paper in February: it initially ruled it out.
The Road Haulage Association, however, has come out in favour of retrofitting.
