Nloomy predictions from Dark Skies, a pro-darkness lobby which claims that the Department of Transport's plan to illuminate the M25 will encircle London in a luminous stranglehold.
According to Dark Skies poorly adjusted headlights and motorway lights give rise to light pollution or skyglow, which blots out stars — similar to watching a slide show with the lights on. By the year 2000 would-be stargazers will have to make do with the Planetarium, it predicts.
