Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HAVE read about the concerr expressed by the Road Haulag Association express carriers functional group about certair transport consultants acting a; middlemen between hauliers and customers (CM, April 11).

I feel it would be helpful to point out to operators in the industry that many consultant myself included, do not opera. in this way.

It seems clear from the information given in the Press that the consultants referred ti are acting as nothing more thE. transport clearing houses, anc would be in everybody's inter' if they were to be honest and declare themselves as such.

It may be that the consultarr concerned are acting solely in their clients' interest, but on tiother hand the situation suggests commission paymer to the consultants from operators anxious to gain business.

In such cases, in my view, flare not fulfilling the traditiona role of consultant which is tha of providing advice and assistance.
