'REY-GREEN'S parent cornany, the Cowie Group, has corded a pre-tax loss of 195,000, compared with a revious half year profit of 525,000.
Chairman Tom Cowie blamed le loss on the acquisition of le George Ewer Group (Greyreen's immediate parent) and s subsidiary Eastern Tractors ist June. Both these busiesses, said Mr Cowie, are ?,asonal and so it is under.andable the interim figures are oar. He is encouraged by rent results, however, saying at the group is now entering ie best half of the year.
The coach operations lost 350,000 while George Ewer's edford/Vauxhall dealer in losiich, Burrells, lost a further 250,000.
Burrells is up for sale and Coiie expects it to be disposed of 'Thin a few weeks.
