FEWER than 20 per cent of th motor industry's qualifie technicians have to date regi: tered with the Engineers Regi: tration Board, according to th Institute of the Motor Industry.
But an appeal has now bee made by both the Board and th Institute to qualified mechanic: body repairers and other sui able technicians to start the al proval process.
Candidates must be 23 yea, of age and have had five year industrial experience, two ( those devoted to ERB-approve training. They must also hol either a Higher National Certif cate in Engineering or a fu Technological Certificate i Motor Vehicle Technicia Studies.
