Standard features on the PT22 nclude an air suspension system on the rear axle which reverts to solid mounting when the fifth-wheel load exceeds eight tons. This reduces terminal surface wear, vibration and maintenance.
Power for the unit is by a 125kW (1676 hpl Scania normally aspirated diesel engine with an Allison MT653 automatic box with five forward/1 reverse gears, while a ZF "non-slip" rear axle rated to 32 tons completes the drive train.
