Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

am now able to acquire another unit and employ a driver. What do you think would be a reasonable average speed to use to assess a good day's work for an employee driver? When I worked for a haulage cornpany myself, 30mph was considered fair; does this still apply? A The assessment of an average operating speed depends very much on the type of job on which the vehicle and driver is employed. A trip which involves mainly trunking would be capable of being accomplished at a higher, safe, average speed than, say, another trip involving a great deal of town work. Moreover, if the larger part of the journey can be operated on a motorway, this would suggest a greater average speed which would be still conclusive with safety.

Perhaps the best way of arriving at a reasonable, and acceptable, average speed is to assess each journey separately yourself and agree with your driver what is fair.
