Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN American Mack tractor has been delivered to a British. operator and is now in service and on its way to Tehran. The vehicle is being used by H. G. Brown and Son International Trucking of Leighton Buzzard on regular groupage services to the Middle East. Supplied by Mack's distributors in Eire, the vehicle was shipped complete from the United States to Southampton. It is understood to be the first-ever US-built Mack to enter service with a UK operator.

The F786ST, double-drive three-axle tractive unit is designed for 50-ton-gross operation but is operating for Brown at 32 tons gross. It is fitted with Mack's ENDT 212 kW (net) (285 bhp) Maxidyne high-torque engine. This unit is a straight six and is turbocharged. It develops 1,465 Nm (1,080 lb ft) of torque. The truck has a Mack five-speed gearbox.

The Brown vehicle has a number of optional items fitted, of which the most expensive are air-conditioning (the unit is mounted on top of the engine cover) and a sleeper cab, The company, which paid about C16,500 for the tractor, believes it complies with all relevant UK legislation. Brown and Sons opted for the Mack—it has a large fleet of Volvos as well—because of its experience with a number of bonneted Macks some years ago. They were used on UK work. Now the company specialises in services to the Middle East and even has a regular service to Pakistan. The 3 500 miles one-way trip is scheduled at 10 days.
