Cyril Bleasdale, 40, divisional manager of BR's Doncaster division, is to become managing director of Freightliners Ltd in succession to L. W. Leppington, who retires shortly. Mr Bleasdale became Freightliner terminal manager at York Way, London, before becoming terminal manager at Camden Freight Terminal in 1965. Stuart Metcalfe, manager of the Nottingham branch of Eastern BRS, has been promoted to company truck rental manager and will move to Alfreton branch hq of truck rental, Eastern BRS.
J. R. Nicholson, 27, manager of BRS Parcels' Wellingborough branch, has been awarded a post-graduate scholarship for a Masters Degree by the National Freight Corporation.
Jaap Feringa, recently returned from the Far _East, is the new general manager of North Sea Ferries following the appointment of Ian Churcher as gm of P & 0 Ferries in London. Colin S. Paterson, manager for the UK and Eire, becomes assist gm, based at present in Hull.

his directorship of Rydewell Engi-leering Ltd, and is setting up his own selling organisation. Among the equipment his new company, Nigel Foster Associates Ltd of Sheffield, will offer is the range of single-axle and tandem-axle rubber-sprung Rydewell running gears.

Mr Pearson, 66, was director and general manager of Pearsons (Armthorpe) Ltd, of Armthorpe, near Doncaster.
