A NEW design of single-deck bus is being purchased by the Belfast Ulsterhus concern in its 1975/76 bus replacement programme. A total of 170 vehicles are being purchased for use on city centre and suburban services. The vehicles have Bristol RELL chassis with Gardener 6HLX and 6HLXB engines and a new design of body built by Walter Alexander Ltd at Mallusk near Belfast.
