Historic Commercial Vehicle Club rally to Brighton

IN GLORIOUS weather last Sunday, crowds lined the route to Brighton for the HCYC's annual run for old vans, lorries and buses. Those who visited Brighton saw what must surely be the original motor caravan—based on a 1914 Ford Model 1—take top honours, including the 'Commercial Motor' challenge cup.

Class winners were : Outright Concours d'Elegance (Barclay Card challenge cup): L. Smith, Outwood, Surrey, 1914 Ford Model T caravan.

Runner-up (Old Motor Magazine challcnge cup): A. E. J. Eldridge, Enfield, 1936 Leyland/Metz turntable ladder.
