THE CHIEF instructor of an EGV driving school says his trucks are parked up and his business is struggling because the Leighton Buzzard test station can offer no appointments until late May.

Jim Brady, who runs Al Driving School in Biggleswade. Bedfordshire.says the situation compounds the national driver shortage because candidates have to wait months to take their tests.

Leighton Buzzard has only two examiners. "This now seems to be a joke," says Brady. "We were told there would be a minimum of three examiners."

The Driving Standards Agency admits that a recent refurbishment has had a "huge impact".
