Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WINCANTON IS talking to Kwik Save about protecting hundreds of distribution jobs after Somerfield sold 171 Kwik Save stores to Back To The Future (BTTF) last week (CM 2 March).

This follows DHL Exel's negotiations with the convenience store's new owners to protect 950 jobs at its RDC in West Yorkshire.

Wincanton is unable to say how many of the 420 jobs at the Wellingborough Northants depot could be lost. A spokesman says: "As one of [Kwik Save's] suppliers it does have a knock-on affect. But we genuinely don't know what the impact will be. We're speaking to guys at Kwik Save to find out."

It is thought that Somerfield lost millions of pounds at unprofitable Kwik Save outlets before deciding to sell them. BTTF was set up specifically to take them on.
