Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TYNESIDE HAULIER Simpson Bros has turned a £244.364 pre-tax operating loss into a prof it of nearly £50,000.

The third-generation haulier, founded in 1919 by the grandfather of MD Peter Simpson. employs 130 drivers and runs 90 trucks.

Simpson says the reason for the turnaround is that in the year before last the firm moved its depot from Throckley to Birtley: "We built the new depot, I took my eye off the ball and we were running two sites."

Now the old site has been sold. Simpson says: "It was definitely the right thing to do because we're now south of Newcastle, close to the Al. We've also added some warehousing."

Nevertheless, he believes the coming year will be "extremely challenging" because work is increasingly hard to come by: "It's a lack of volume too many hauliers looking for too little work."
